I am shooting a 80# monster, with 30″ DL. I shoot FMJ 300 with my Rage 2 blade BH’s on them and they fly excellent. I have only shot them out to 50 yards but they hit same POI as my fieldpoints. I have found out through Pinwheel that even the 300′s are to weak so I am going to the FMJ 250DG :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup

SS: What kind of speeds are you getting out of your 80LB? Did you check your actual draw weight? I hope mine comes in heavier than the 80LB setting. Sounds like you have a great setup. Also what grain arrow and tip are you shooting… Thanks for the reply….. [=}=]

The actual draw weight is 82.9lbs the toatl arrow weight is 524grs including the 100gr Rage. I clocked it on 2 different chrono’s and was consistantly around 313fps. will probably be a little slower when I go with the FMJ 250 DG’s as they are 5grs heavier but KE should go up

FWIW, IMHO, when you get into the heavy weight bows, very large game, KE with speeds below 1800 fps is a poor indicator of lethality. Momentum takes over being the determining lethality factor for penetrating large rib bones, thick matt of hair and hide, etc.

Try driving a spike by swinging a tack hammer harder and faster … a great lesson in Phsyics… :whistle

I shot an elk about 12 years ago through both shoulder blades and never found the arrow. The bow was a Golden Circle 128LB Compound and the arrow was a 2419 with a Zwickey broad head. Lots of KE, and believe me that elk went nowhere! [=}=]

    … and Momentum, too. :thumbup

What did that arrow top out at … 650 grains?

Pretty close I believe the arrows were full lenght (34″) since my draw length on that bow was 32″….
