I read about all of these Monsters and the incredible speeds they are generating. I have not yet heard a report on how the broadheads are flying out of them.

If you have a Monster please let us know

    What your setup is….

How fast (if you had it Chrono’d)

    What broadhead (Make, Type, Grains)

    How did they fly?

Are they hitting where your field tips are?

What is the max yardage you have shot them at?

I know I would certainly appreciate the feedback. If I had mine already I would have posted my results to these questions.

I just picked my Monster up today. WOW  I got 50-60 limbs. At 55lbs , 29″ draw I shot 302. I shoot a GT Ultralight 400 spine.

    Great, Thanks for the replies.

    Please keep them coming.

I have heard lots of people who think you cannot get a fixed blade to fly out of the speed bows. We cannot use the mechanicals in Oregon, so we have to make the fixed blades fly…. :thumbup

No way I would try to “hunt” with a fixed broadhead at 350 fps, tuning in the backyard is one thing but hunting situations is another.

I would load up the arrow weight to whatever needed to get the speed around 280 fps and then tune it to whatever head I wanted to screw on the shaft.

Never shot a BH out of my Monster before it hit the road. So I am really not qualified to answer the question anyway. :^O

Andy: Since we cannot use mechanicals here in Oregon we have learned to shoot the fixed blades even at the faster speeds. The fastest that I have personally seen a fixed blade fly (excellent flight) is right at 318FPS out of my buddies Elite. We look for the shortest blades available and the tightest tolerances. I currently shoot 305 FPS out of my DLD with an arrow at 403 GR. On my range I can shoot to over 100 yards and my broadheads hit the same spot as my field points do even at 80 ant 100 yards. I am using 100 GR Wac-em 3 blades. I will most likely be shooting my 80LB Monster 500GR at around 320FPS and will try to get them to do the same. No promises but that is my goal. If I have to shoot my Rhino arrows at 15.5 GR per inch I will be close to 300 FPS but they will be closer to 600 GR. I know I can get them to fly… [=}=]

I had no problems at all getting mechanical heads to fly right, and I didn’t get a chance to shoot fixed blades out of it yet. I don’t think I would have a problem either ;)

I’m shooting a 420 grain arrow at 65# with a 28″ draw so I’m not getting the crazy 350FPS and never expected too. That being that I have sighted in my field points then my broadheads (G5 Striker 100 grain) and they are grouping very well for me. With the KE the Monster puts out I would have no problem using a mechanical head with it this deer season.

Yeah, but no pics, eh? :whistle

My dealer is checking today to see when my Monster might deliver. I’m building arrows, etc. got all the goodies to go on it, just waiting for the bow … and you know I’ll put up a review and pics of BH groups[/i:13p4m7ht]. ;)

… so where are the pics at 40 yds, at least 5 or more shots, 8 or more preferred, clean target … and you can shoot the same arrow over and over and retrieve it with the holes making the the group? [=}=]

I didn’t read this until this morning. I usually don’t have the camera with me. I wish I had it last night cause I had some pretty good 40 yard groupings demonstrating FP next to broadheads in an Elite Block target. If I can I’ll try for tonight when I get home from work if the boss will let me.
