Personal favorite pop is Sun Drop. It’s made/bottled in Shawano, Wisconsin. If you buy one (green bottle, not red), hold it up to the light. The little floaties is alge from Shawano Lake and the Wolf River. Now THAT is a healthy soda pop!

I spent my summers growing up in and around Dublin, Texas. That is the home of the oldest Dr Pepper bottler in the world.
In Dublin, it’s still made with imperial sugar by the original recipe instead of with corn syrup. Even though it was invented in Texas by a Texan, it’s named after a man in Virginia.
My great-grandad had a general store there, and I used to make some pocket change sweeping the wooden floors. One of my childhood memories is sitting out on the covered porch drinking a DP after sweeping the store. Just waiting for a ride back to the farm so I could grab the 410 or the 22 and go rabbit hunting or fishing in the tank.
My grandmother made homemade rootbeer. It was the stuff of legend. The SINGLE best beverage I ever have drank in my life. Well she is long gone and I find myself craving that sweet necture more and more every year…So Clay your dead on about simpler times…
