I was so excited when I received a call from my local Pro Shop saying my Smoke Blue Mathew’s Conquest 4 with 65% Let Off Cam and 28.5 Inch Draw was in. I had been dreaming of owning a Mathew’s Target Bow after shooting the Creed and seeing many successful Pros shoot the Conquest Line of Mathew’s Target Bows. I made the mistake of leaving Archery some time ago, but in 2012 my youngest son encouraged me to get a Bow. I really enjoyed what I was shooting but when I saw all the Mathew’s Had to offer and saw I could afford a Target Bow, I started to research the Company, their successes, and what many top shooters were using from the Mathew’s Line. So I have my Bow and most of the accessories I want. I purchased a Rinehart Target for my basement (10 yards) because the Winters get “Really” Cold here. It was just -40. On top of that I hurt my back and have to really build up the core area so I can get into what I was really enjoying. This Bow is Beautiful. If anyone has suggestions on a good exercise program for this 49 year old to use for stretching and building my core areas of the back, I’d appreciate feedback. Currently I have a very sore muscle on my right side where my ribs are. If I shoot, it hurts and even spasms. I’m going to start an exercise program using my company’s gym, next week. I expect this Year to be a year like no other, and with My Mathew’s Conquest 4, the same goes for Archery.

congrats on the new target rig, you will have a ball! get with a good trainer and get on a well rounded program that keeps your injury from recurring and build your core to compensate for the weak back. I have struggled with a bad back for years and this is about the only option for keeping us upright and doing what we love to do. good luck with your recovery.

Lower your poundage and take time off. Healing takes time, lots of time. I went from 70 to 50 pounds for almost two years. Now I’m back at 64 but will be going down to mid fifties soon.
