    Hello fellow Mathews supporters,

I’ve just got my first Mathews bow two days ago, the new Mathews Chill! And shot it for the first time yesterday, and let’s just say that I haven’t regret a thing about the purchase, it’s just a fantastic..

Thus I have a little question, because I was so unlucky to damage my string abit, and was wondering if I got a new string, where do I get those String Grubs? Do they only come on the original string from Mathews, or am I able to buy them from somewhere and put them on my self?

For those who dont know what a String Grub is, I’ve added a picture of one.

    Thanks in advance, Nicolaj Rexen

If your getting a new string  just keep the grubs from the stock string. Your dealer should have them in stock though.

The string grubs can be removed from the old string by hand. They are a tight fit, but they will slide off over the end loops with some effort. Before removing them, measure from the end loop to the grub to locate the proper positioning on the string. You will need this measurement when re-installing them on the new string.

To re-install the grubs, you will need a length of thin wire doubled over and a pair of pliers.

Once you have pulled the grub back onto the string, they may fit loosely. The fix is to hand serve sections over the end serving to build up the string diameter. This will ensure a tight fit and that the grubs will not move and possibly foul the cam.
