Hey guys, I got a Mathews chill from a friend who can’t shoot it anymore due to a shoulder injury. He has a 27 inch draw and the limbs are marked 27/50 which I assume is 27″ draw 50# pull. I have been shooting a hand me down high country sniper since high school and the best I can remember my draw is 29.5-30 (Im 6’5″ if that helps you estimate). Anyone have any idea what kind of cost I will incur to get the bow changed out to work for me? I know I will need to get arrows as well and last I bought any there were 125$ give or take a little for a dozen. Thanks for the help

If you are happy with the 50# limbs, then all you need is a set of mods, which are about $20. If you need to change limbs also, they will be more costly, depending on what your dealer gets for them.

So the limbs don’t have to be changed in order to change the draw length? Only if you want to change the draw weight?

Right, mathews has three sets of limbs 40-50,50-60, and 60-70. If your happy pulling the weight your pulling all you have to do is change the draw modules on each cam. The nice thing about the chill is you don’t need a bow press. It’s just two Allen head bolts on each cam and your done. And for your draw length, hold your arms out wide and have so done measure from tip of your middle finger to tip of your middle finger and divide by 2.5 that will give you your draw length

Thanks, will get to my local dealer and get it set up. With the equation above my draw comes up to 31.2. And the guy I got the bow from said the limbs are 50-60lbs.

One other thing to consider is the new Rock modules do fit the Chill. I would recommend buying the Rocks for this change in draw length. The only thing I’m seeing is the Chill has a max draw length of 30″. The new Rock modules measure real close to what draw length you are wanting with no over draw. I’d ask the dealer to put a set on to test to see if your form is affected by a 30″ draw. If you need the 31.5″ DL it will affect your form.
