I’m going to buy another bow for 3-D and spots, but I have a dilemma, I can’t decide on which bow to get I have two way tie between the Monster 7.0 or the Carbon Matrix. I would like your opinions on each. Thanks

IMHO, the M7 is a better made and shooting bow and not made of fancy plastic. [-X
P.S. It also cost about 1/2 the price!

You picked a bad place to ask such a question. Better off asking some place where all bows are shot and discussed. It s just going to be one sided here. [=}=]

I’ve shot the Matrix and Maxxis 35 and for all the talk about carbon risers, couldn’t really tell the difference between the two. Dave Cousins is tearing up the 3D circuit with a Maxxis 35 … if the Matrix is more forgiving, better balance, better shooting, you’d think Dave would be using one … or somebody on Team Hoyt. ;)

There is too much hype about weight and balance and vibrations/dead-in-the-hand … once you fit a stabilizer and V-bars you can make almost any bow balance and feel the way you like.

Team Hoyt took the first leg of the Triple Crown Beford IBO with Maxxis, Contender Elite, and Alphaburner…nary a Matrix on the podium.

Team Hoyt dominates 2010 NFAA Field, all shooting Contender Elites or Vantage Elites…and nary a Matrix on the podium.

Hoyt dominates World Cup … all Contender Elites, and nary a Matrix on the podium…

Hoyt dominates the South African National … Maxxis 35, Vantage Elite, and Contender Elite, and nary a Matrix on the podium …

In fact, there are only a couple of Hoyt Pro Staff Bowhunters using a Matrix, Dudley and Ray is about it, and nobody setting any records or even getting on a podium with a Matrix … makes you wonder, eh?

If you want to put forward good money on a Hoyt target bow for 3D or spots, I’d recommend trying the Contender Elite with XT3000 limbs and Spiral-X cams… my 60/28 CE came in at 65# peak and 12 fps over IBO at 322 fps… figure it’ll run about $300 for stab/V-bars, $300 for sight, and $300 for Scope, and $300 for arrows…but I’m just a Mathews fanboy ;)
