    “I don’t believe that this bill’s blanket ban on semi-automatic rifles would reduce criminal activity or enhance public safety enough to warrant this infringement on gun owners’ rights,” the Democratic governor wrote in his veto message. {#emotions_dlg.mathews_thumbs_up}

    Not sure the tide is turning.  They just banned lead bullets there.

    Yep.  I ain’t looking to move there.  But I never thought I’d see in print that a Democratic Governor from CA, “seeking re-election”, would utter these words.

    “I don’t believe that this bill’s blanket ban on semi-automatic rifles would reduce criminal activity or enhance public safety enough to warrant this infringement on gun owners’ rights,” the Democratic governor wrote in his veto message.

    Couple that with the report from CO where the governor asked Bloomberg’s Buffoons to stay away from another possible state senate recall battle there.

    The ban of lead bullets is extremely unfortunate and stupid but it’s an “environmental issue”.  The “Condor lovers” & “tree huggers” still rule.

    Cali does suck but at least we can hunt on Sundays use rifles to hunt deer and have a CCW. Well at least in my town Fats lol. I have not been able to use led bullets in a Long time but just a few miles away it’s ok. It very crazy how they have it.

    I knew they banned lead but I didn’t look into it too deeply. Will this apply to handgun rounds as well as hunting rounds? Everything I reload is fmj lead, what else is there besides lead?

    Thanks Rem. I think I better keep stocking up on lead before NY follows Cali. {#emotions_dlg.mathews_tongue}

    That might be a good idea but a better one is stock up on led free because when it hits your state the price is going to go crazy lol. at least thats how it is here led free or green bullets as they call them are way more $$$

    Long Island is a bit more “green” and may follow CA but the only real wildlife to worry about in other parts of the state in regard to lead are the biker gangs.

    Sic em!{#emotions_dlg.mathews_whip}

    The EPA is being sued by the Center for Biological Diversity to ban lead in all bullets as a toxic substance. The EPA isn’t fighting the suit. Every sportsman/hunter should be concerned and urge support for the Hunting, Fishing and Recreational Shooting Protection Act (S.1505).

    Before Obama was even elected, there was conjecture that one of the ways he would attempt to make ammo inaccessible would be to ban lead due to toxicity. This is one more reason that NO government agency ought to have ANY ability to essentially legislate people through rules, bypassing the legislative process granted in the COTUS. The EPA and other similar agencies that have the ability to create their own laws/rules ought to be banned for reasons of unconstitutionality, IMO. {#emotions_dlg.mathews_brick_wall}

    Was in Wallymart a few weeks ago looking for 1 oz fishing weights. Lead was ‘not available.’ Steel – yes.
    Give it time – it’s gonna spread.
