I just recieved my new Ballistic, I shot the Chill and Ballistic and IMO the ballistic was smoother and quieter!
    I am shooting 65.3lbs. 28.5″ draw goldtip 22 pro series 334 grains @ 308 fps.
I was really impressed, post your specs and pics of your ballistic! I am waiting on my stokerized 20″ stab to come in and will get pics of mine posted soon!

Be sure to put a Mathews Harmonic stabilizer in the bottom of the Riser. Will kill the hand shock and noise.

I shot both back to back. The ballistic is super nice for half the price. It’s not smoother than a chill though nor quieter imho.

Already did, all of our ballistics we sell we sell with a harmonic dampener, the consensus in our shop from our customers the majority agree that the ballistic is smoother and quieter, everyone heres differently though!

It’s just getting a better outlook because it’s 499 retail over 999 retail. That about sums it up.

Is the Chill really $500 better?
I haven’t shot either yet but plan on it soon.

Nope. Clever machining, billet Al, graphics, and a few tweaks to the cam profile aren’t worth the additional 5 large IMO – it’s the odd duck of the MR lineup.

Mission will likely never get the play on here that the premium line gets, but that doesn’t stop the fact that the Ballistic is still 98% of the Chill for half the cost.

I just purchased my ballistic 2 days ago. This is my first “new” purchase. My 13 year-old graciously took my mission riot. He talked me into getting the black ballistic – I have it “tricked out” with neon orange accessories (I’ll post some pics later) – so the harmonic dampener will make this great bo better? (This is like buying a new sports car, you find more and more mods to make it faster & “cooler”.)

Absolutely put the Harmonic Damper in the bottom. Prolly use the Lite version. I will always use two in my Mathews bow’s. Makes a world of difference.

I did a review on the Chill vs Ballistic.
    http://forums.mathewsinc.com/archery-4/ … ic-215190/

Each bow has their niche clientele, I am sure. Each bow has their advantages and disadvantages. Pricing is a big factor. Speed, weight, draw cycle differences are not such big factors. [=}=]

I didn’t notice where the Ballistic had more than one place to put an HD or HS or HS-Lite :smt69 The Ballistic I demo’d didn’t have any Harmonic Damper or Stabilizer on it, and with a Stealth Stabilizer I didn’t notice that it actually needed one. However, since the bow is slightly top heavy, I’d probably opt for the regular HS in the lower end of the riser.

The Ballistic does just have the one spot for a Stabilizer. I was just saying I will always use two of them in my Mathews bows. I can tell a huge difference in the deadening it done to my ZXT. Zero shock.
