does anyone have to use a spacer on the mathews qad because  if you need to move rest in closer to riser vane clearance is tight because the body of the rest sticks out past the riser that looks to be 1/4 inch

I just had this same situation with my Switchback XT. They do make a spacer but it want help your issue it will only make it worse. I called QAD and told them my problem. The sales rep. told me that the Mathews QAD  was designed to be a perfect fit for 2012 and newer bows. You basically have two choices to correct it  the right way. Take it back and return it for the regular  QAD HDX Rest or you can call QAD as i did and they will send you the regular HDX mounting bracket with hardware. The rest is not your problem its the Mathews mounting bracket. I was disappointed because the Mathews mounting bracket fits rock solid, only problem is it was designed for newer Mathews bows. QAD was very helpful and understanding to my situation. Hope this works out for you, Happy Shooting!!

The spacer i was talking about goes in the dovetail between the rest base and mounting bracket. In your case that spacer  would move your rest further past the rest. The spacer you need is not available for rest. You can buy a spacer from hardware store and put it between the mount brkt. and riser but then you would have to use a longer mounting bolt. End result is your Mathews mount brkt. will not mount uniform to back corner of the riser like it is designed to do. I don’t suggest it but its an option..  Good Luck!

thats what i did to correct the design flaw with the mathews qad i used the two plastic washers that came with my k-tech stabilizer and my bow is a 2012 z7 magnum so the rest will not  fit the new bows either.

Yes!  Those two washers I used are from my Ktech stabs as well.

FYI for anyone else interested….I emailed the photos to QAD and they gave their blessing on this method.  They agreed that it should work as advertised if you choose to add a few washers.
