She has a martin tigres and it shoots ok. I just got a older used mathews icon in a draw weight she can pull but this seems to be a pretty dated bow. I am thinking about getting her a new mathews but not sure where to spend my cash. Should I get here a ignition, mustang or just get like a s2 with 40 lb limbs? Would the s2 be a better shooting bow for her than one of the more youth type models. Im not even sure it will be better that her martin she has now. She is really just getting started out in archery and I want her to have one she will be happy with.

I’ve shot the S2 and it seems to be a pretty smooth shooting bow. It may be a little heavy to her though may be comparable to the Martin she is already shooting. Many woman shoot the Prestige competitively but pricey. If you seriously consider the S2 then I would have her shoot the Dreanalin LD. It is one smooth shooting bow.

I think if I where to outfit a woman I would consider a mint used swithcy xt in her specs. Definitely get the job done.

My wife has the tigress also!! it’s not a bad bow but I am going to have to buy her a new bow soon she wants a mathews!! I am going to end up getting her an S2 or Dren LD she doesn’t hunt so it will be stricktly a target bow! here’s a pic of my wifes bow!!

I got my fiance a 40# drenny used off AT for $560(backup bow for 75 yr old and the strings weren’t even broke in). It is a great bow for her although she only pulls about 32#, its light, and I have never had her shoot through a chrono but ontarget says 220-225fps and 38 KE with 340 grn arrows.

I’d say whatever she thinks feels better to her but my girfriend shoots a S2 shooting about 43lbs

I would see what fits her but the S2 would be a great choice. When I married my wife she had her Darton, she loves that bow and sees no reason to upgrade. Still shooting great and she doesn’t want a new bow.

Good luck in your choices, if she is serious about archery then a trip to the pro shop and trying out a bunch of bows may be in order. She will know what she likes and it may not be in your poll.

thanks guy for the info. thinking about getting her one 4 a surprise. She is just really getting into archery with me and I think her old martin is kinda dated. When I shoot it its allmost like the arrow is jumping off the string. Kinda hard to describe. I think a new more modern more forgiving bow might spark her interest i little more. really leaning toward a new s2 all black 25 inch draw with a 40 lb peak. should be a sweet shooting little bow for her. i had a 2005 switchback that i loved. think this new s2 is a updated version of the same.

i voted too quickly i didnt see the s2 on the list till after i clicked on the
ignition. i bought my wife a 40-50 lb sbxt and she loves it. when we got it
i turned the weight all the way down but she still seemed to have a hard
time drawing it. i soon realized it was a mental thing with her. i sent her to
pull the arrows from the target and quickly turned the weight up. i did
this three times untill it was maxed out and she never even knew the
difference. when i told her she instantly became more sure of herself. now
she draws and shoots with good form and confidence.
