This is an old topic, all [/u:2rg4aulq]film dip eventually wears, and I’ve posted the solution before. [=}=]

For those who want to keep their camo bows looking like new, the riser grip area can be after-market treated.
    http://www.hydraphics.com/catalog/hydra … p-173.html

If the film dip is blistering or peeling, that is due to inadequate prep, and is covered under warranty. Otherwise, normal wear from handling or damage by chemicals is not covered, but Mathews may stand behind the product depending on circumstances.

I don’t know if there is a difference in the demo bows’ finish and the retail bows’ finish, but my dealer told me the bows last year and this year have a ‘tougher’ coating, and he has seen less wear.

There would be no difference between the Demo’s and the Regulars. There actually are no such thing as Demo bow’s anymore because the dealers pay for them just the same.

I don’t see why Mathews would make the Demo bow’s lower in Quality. If the Demo you shoot is all worn out looking in no time that would make you not want to buy one. Mathews is smarter then that. If anything a “demo” or first ones out would be more assured for quality.

I talked to my Local dealer about it. I think he is going to check with Mathews and go from there. I also placed my order for a Tactical Creed 28″ 70lbs. That way once I get it I can send the ZXT in if they are wanting me to. I can’t go bowless. [-X

not to sound smart but do you realize that you are trying to tell dealers and moderators on here who work very closely with mathews every day that we don’t know what we’re talking about? just because we pay for the DEMO bows and they aren’t free to us, doesn’t mean that there aren’t demo’s, they are, and are always first run items, which also means there can be differences or changes from full production runs. i’m not sure where you get your info, but most of it on HERE is very reliable.

Maybe I’m just used to all the scratches and dings my bows, equipment, and myself have gotten over the years, but I’m really having a hard time seeing the wear in those pictures. I know some folks like everything to stay as pristine as possible and still use it, but if you but a tool and use it hard (as you say), you’re bound to put a few miles on the finish.

Personally, I’m okay with that – shows character for both the bow, and the owner. ;)

I wouldn’t worry about a little wear in that area. It shows you use your bow.

As for demos being different. I’d have to agree. It may just be at my shop, but not a single demo my dealer has ever recieved has had an in line grip. To me that shows there are true demos and then production runs. I would much rather order a bow and have to wait then buy a demo. Not saying the demo isn’t good quality but it doesn’t have that straight out of the box feel.

I am not trying to say anyone don’t know what there talking about. If I was I would say you don’t know what your talking about. I am stating my opinion. Guess it’s wrong to have one these days.

So are the Demo bow’s different quality? If not then I think I am right. I am just stating my opinion.

We will just see what Mathews themselves say about it but I just don’t see Mathews doing the “demo” bows any differently. That wouldn’t be a very good idea business wise.

That much wear in a month is abnormal. I think you should take it to your dealer.

The wear pn it just gives it a little character thats all and besides it doesn’t even look that bad. Not it’s just broken in and give it the ” your bow” feel. maybe you should name it now to so you can feel the closeness to it. :D

Yeah there can be differences but people were saying that demo bow’s might not have the same quality assurance. There would be no differences that were intentionally done so YEAH, I’m right.

Only Mathews knows, and I bet they won’t tell. Could be they do a more wearable finish on the demos so they look well shot hanging on the rack faster. You know, as a selling point. People walk in and ask the dealer why that one’s so worn, and the dealer says people can’t put it down it shoots so well…. You never know when it comes to marketing… [=}=]

    The end is near....

Never thought of it that way! LOL. Either way I’m not sweating it. If Mathews decides they want to fix it then I will wait until I get my Tactical Creed to send the ZXT back.

It just kind of disappointed me to see wear this fast.

I think the one point that hasn’t been brought up and could be huge is…The bow is a demo bow..Mathews knows that serial number matches a demo bow..The bow shouldn’t have been sold as new stock.. could come into play come warranty time..

I was kinda thinking the same thing…it should get taken care of but yeah that bow is a demo.

and the wear in the pics look like typical wear from gripping that area it didn’t take loog for my DX to wear like that.
