Alright guys, Keep me posted on your wear and tear on your new Mathew’s bow’s finish.

I got my ZXT on the 5th and it is already wearing the Camo off around the Grip area. Kind of annoy’s me no older then it is. A lot of money put into something for it to be showing wear already.

Anyone else having this problem? Any Mathews Bow’s I buy from now on will be Black or Tactical so I won’t have this problem.

your hand should NOT be on the front of the riser when you shoot the bow,it should be pushing on the back of the grip.

So, you now can’t touch the front of the riser at all? :^O What if he carries his bow around the grip? :^O

read what i said, “when you shoot the bow”. i would suggest to op to buy a thermal shield for the front of the riser to protect it .since you have only had the bow for three weeks and it seems like you haven’t done anything but shoot targets,it seems rather odd for the finish to be wearing off already. you must be carrying it everywhere you go! as for you jeff,….. nevermind.

let me tell what’s wrong here !!
every time you hunt you spray yourself with scentfree spray right ,
and spray all over your body and hats and gloves right ?
what you did spray on your gloves actually attach to riser awhile walking to your stand ,that SPRAY on your gloves ruins the riser grip area ](*,)

haha…i thought the same thing- give me a break :whistle

i would be pretty pi$$ed if my bow was a month old and showing wear to the camo!!

i’m also sure that Mathews will stand behind their work and make things right.

You shouldn’t even need a thermal shield. I would have suggested he take it to his dealer, and have him contact Mathews.

the acidity of ones own sweat and body can be very tough on the finish,it’s been talked about a thousand times on here. i really don’t feel it’s a big issue. some people do seem to have more issues than others.and yes,if you feel you are being wronged,by all means, have dealer contact mathews.it’s a shame to me to have a riser replaced because of NORMAL wear(dulling of finish) from gripping the bow. it will happen again.

an easy way around this is to buy a black bow. Different application.

I have not used any bug spray and I know it isn’t sweat. It is how I carry the bow. I carry it in my left hand facing up, therefor the riser is contacting my hand. That still shouldn’t make it come off this fast.

I didn’t think Mathews warranted the finish. If they do they must have just started lately. Be cool if I could send it back and get a Tactical ZXT in return. I would do that in a heartbeat.,

I have had it since Nov 5th actually. I have killed more stuff with it in that amount of time that some will kill in their lifetime. The other day I killed two Doves in one shot with it.

Still I am very meticulous with my Bow’s. I take very good care of them. Hard not to for how pretty they are and how much they cost. I should not be worrying about the finish coming off a Brand new 2013 Mathews Bow.

I will be having my Local dealer contact Mathews about this. In turn I hope I can get a Black riser so I don’t half to worry about it.
