bow season ended Nov 17 here. but u can still use it during gun, but good luck around here. our gun season goes for 2 more weeks, then we get a week of bow/muzzeloader.

my season is basically over, the lack of seeing deer during rifle season has really put a damper on my drive to hunt. :-B[/quote:2xc3kmqw]

Bow season ends Dec 31 here, and ML season started Saturday and runs ’til Dec 10. I’ll be out trying to fill my last doe tag. I plan on donating the meat, and I’m hunting as much for fun and late season deer movement research as much as to take the deer. Plus, I’m scouting some public land in the process.

I agree that it’s harder to coax yourself out of bed on these cold late-season mornings when you’re not seeing deer anywhere near as frequently as earlier in the season. Especially if your freezer is already full. Most likely, I’ll be hunting more afternoons than mornings the rest of the way.

this year has been good and bad! the good is i took about 120 eight pointer in mid oct. bad being there has been more drama w/ me hunting this year to fill a life time, i have a crazy brother who is terribly negative, and inconsiderate! he has literally taken the fun out of hunting in the last 3-4 weeks. i get so mad when i go hunting, because he walks the place like he was a marathon runner w/ club foot. dosent worry about scent and hunts my stands w/ out telling me, and is just so negative! when i told him i was going to put food plots in for next year, he started calling me farmer fred, in a real sarcastic voice. he has this arrogance like hes the best hunter in the world when the only nice deer hes ever killed was this year he shot a 140 ich 8pt, w/ his RIFLE (who big bad hunter). in all honesty i think he is jealous of lill bro. i seem to have a little luck, nothing great, but sense he finally killed a bigger deer than me for once, he is determined to rub it in like a 3rd grader. I dont want hunting to equal frustration and anger, and when ive gone lately i always get mad cause i see him walking the woods, or he forgets to tell me that he hunted such and such stand of mine in which he shot at several deer w/ his bow and missed (spooked em). and after i killed my buck for this year he told me to say out of the wood that i was done w/ my season till rifle, etc., basically trying to call the shots. sorry for the rant, thats why im letting the rest of the season go, i dont want the thing i love so much to make me mad when i think about it. Sure i might go one or two times more, but i guess i will water fowl until the season closes, and next year when i shoot a huge deer on my food plots ill remind him of when he was poking fun, and im going to take my stands down, and he will have to go somewhere else! Again sorry for the rant, but it did feel good to get it all out. thanks guys!!!!

be thankful if you have a supporting family and/or friends!

I’ll be in Iowa this weekend for the shotgun season and then come back to Missouri fow the rest of late season archery. I’m hoping I can find some bucks hanging around our food plot and get a shot at one of them.

I’m done as far as whitetail deer are concerned….but if you were to count axis deer…my season never ends :D It’s just the opportunities to go hunting are limited due to work, family and travel constraints (I have to go to another island to hunt deer).

Good luck to all who still have the opportunity to hunt! :thumbup
