I was looking at my Heli-M and noticed the roller guard rod is bent pretty badly. Looks dangerous to me. I don’t think it done it with 65# limbs on it and 29.5″ Cam. After the 28″ cam and 70# limbs I noticed it bent. What’s up?

No, It was not at all bent with the 65# limbs and 29.5″ cam. It is bent badly now. Also the cable serving at the roller guard looks a little chewed up. I also noticed my ksb1 string stop foot had to be trimmed to clear the cables. Something is bad wrong here.

    1. Stop Shooting

    2. Take to dealer and have checked out

    3. Post a pic. The RA roller guard arm is a carbon rod … it is either straight or broken, never bent.

the rollerguard arm DOES flex on the helium, but sounds like you are out of spec somehow.as brian said, take it back to the shop that did the work.

Who did the trimming? That is not normal.

Bent is permanent, like a bent wire, and is not normal. Flex or bend is a recoverable displacement under load and is normal.

When bow is at rest the cable rod will have a slight curve in it. [=}=]

On my Heli-m, the carbon rod of the roller guard has a slightly bow in it. It concerned me as well at first, however my dealer told me it is normal. I haven’t noticed any issues with it, but it is definitely not straight and does have a slight bow in it. The rubber bumper of the string stop on the Ktech unit is the same as the colored Mathews custom damping accessories one, as well as many other models of Mathews bows with the Dead End String Stop. It is a larger bumper and different shape than the stock Heli-m (as I’m sure you noticed) and will rub the cable on the Heli-m. I notched mine for clearance around the cable, however you can also replace it with the stock Heli-m bumper as well. I’m not sure what others have done, but it has worked for me. I hope this helps. :thumbup

Compared it with some Heli-Ms at the dealer and it was no worse than them. Also the Chill’s arm does it also. It’s a shorter arm and still bent pretty badly. The Chill also has more clearance problems than the Heli-M, They are tight around the string stop area.

I just changed the heli-m foot and put it on my Ksb1.

I gotta change the Focus grip. I got the wood grip for it. What’s something good to use to install grips besides 3m Black adhesive?

why don’t you want to use the same thing that the factory uses? works great.

Most all of the hand shock and vibration in my Heli-M was through the string stop. Now it’s dead in hand no shock and no noise. No comparison stock to the Ksb1. Every bow I get will have one.
