Well best of luck to everyone still getting out there.

I am wishing for some snow for a late season hunt to fill another doe tag here in Ohio.

I also plan on heading to Kentucky the weekend between Christmas and New Year’s Day and Maybe the weekend after that. We’ll see.

I’m sure alot of the Southern boys will be bringing home the bacon soon… we tend to have a later rutting season down south :thumbup

I know on the eastern side of Louisiana along the Mississippi river the rut is usually in mid to late December and sometimes pushes into January ;)

Sorry for the horrible pic! Me and Boomer went out for blood Saturday evening, the last day of our gun season. Put a bad hurtin on one family to help another. My daughters basketball coach has 8 kids, and due to a round of the bug that swept through their household he didn’t get to get out and fill his freezer. Me and Boomer thought we’d help out a little bit.

Several nice bucks were taken by guys that work for me during shot gun season plus several does. Mainly up northwest around Bucyrus and Findlay OH. They described the rut going on and lock down with bucks hard wired to a doe. I guess the rut was a little late this year.

I’ll still be hunting to late January if need be. Just got a lead on some small bit of private property to the east that I have to go check out. Nobody has ever hunted it and the it sound like a very little honey hole. I bet it has yotes for the taking too.

Heck yea, Started in Sept. and still hard at it. I Was in a stand this past saturday and had 2 bucks come by just not the right ones. I have 1 more buck tag and a full month so Im being selective. Now is a good time for me sometimes. I have taken a few decent bucks in Dec. We also get to hunt till March so I have a LOT of Doe (DPOP Tags) to take along with that last buck I WILL get!!!

Hunting mostly with Cross-Bow due to shoulder and Bicep injury but am hitting a couple saturdays with slug gun!

I like the woods now you can see for miles and now is a good time to share with friends… but truth be told Im getting worn down a bit and should refocus on work – NOT!!!

My Buck killing skills are sick – too bad there not contagious!!!

That’s only 40 minutes Northeast of me. Good Luck Mark on the place to the East. There is some beautiful country over that way. I spent lastweek down in Noble County. I didn’t see any bucks chasing, but my buddy did see a couple bucks afters does, so the rut was still on.

Still here and still hunting but not as hard. With gun season running right now I really only hunt the house since I do not like hunting around gun hunters. I am not going to take any more bucks since I will not take more than 2 a season on any one property regardless of weapon and I have harvested all the doe I want here as well.

I went out yesterday here in MD with the smoke pole at the farm and saw 1 deer all day but no hunters so that was nice but I did go in before light and stay until 45 minutes after dark just to be safe. Long story for my nature around gun hunters best told over a adult beverage one day. I figure most were not aware of the Sunday hunting that opened up for gun this year or the Ravens game was more important?

I can say the orange army has really gotten these deer skittish since everyone gun hunts on the surrounding properties. I would think that they are going to really collapse on the farm in my favorite spot since it is on the border of a non-hunting property, AG fields, funnel to houses and not a single shot fired from a gun in two years from the stand or even within 400 yards of it. I just need to get the wind right since it is a close quarters stand. :thumbup :thumbup
