Curious… is anyone is still out there hunting? Things seem to have been pretty quiet on here lately as far as our forum brothers and sisters putting deer on the ground.

still here,, still hunting. hunting hard. the deer population and sightings on the farm i hunt are way down for some reason. took my son out monday for gun season, he killed a 4 point, the only live deer we seen all morning. we found a button buck and a large doe about 100 yards apart, both dead!
been hunting all week and have’nt seen anything more than small does. was at the local processer yesterday and he had a nice 8 point in the cooler still in full velvet, he said it had no testicles.

I haven’t been able to get out since my button buck but my dad popped a big doe (103lbs hanging weight) Monday morning of gun season.

I was going to ask the same thing. Of course you have to remember that many tags have been filled. In my neighborhood, I have 2 doe tags to fill, but since I already have a doe and a buck in the freezer, the pressure is off. Our late archery season runs from 12/10 to 12/18 and I’ll be out in earnest then when a buck is back on the hit list. We had a good waterfowl hunt yesterday and hope to do the same next Saturday. I was out for doe this AM for about an hour until the rain came. May try again in the PM. Good luck!

I’ve been out, but with the full moon and temps between 60-70 during the day I haven’t seen anything. Pics on the cam are around 7:30pm and 3am…

Have been hunting fairly regularly, but the trail cams show the deer moving in the middle of the night. I haven’t seen anything by my stands during hunting hours.

As a side note, our deer population in southeastern Ontario is slowly on the rebuild after the disasterous winter of 2009 wherein we had snow up to the eyeballs, a huge spurt in the wolf/coyote population, and the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources giving out way too many doe tags for this area. Needless to say, the hunting has been pretty slow these past few years. But hey, just being out in the wilds with a bow in your hand is fun. :thumbup

Still hunting, deer are pretty spooky right now due to gun seasons but another week or so they’ll start calming back down. Hopefully the big boys will start hammering the food sources also. Just a matter of finding them. :thumbup

The buck must be married. Its wife has them in her purse. :p

I spent last Sunday through Thursday in Southeast Ohio. I saw 1 buck and 4 doe all week. Couldn’t get a shot on any of them. ](*,) I hunt private ground, but I sure don’t hear the gunshots and people like we used to years ago. :smt69

Our second shotgun season was this weekend. Between the warm temps and full moon, there hasn’t been much moving.
