I went out to sight in a couple of rifles this weekend and just can’t seem to get into the gun, as I’ve been shooting my bow. Just seems more exciting when deer are close. I do have a huge deer going between my area and two other guys, and they are going to be out this upcoming weekend for the gun opener.

I’m thinking I want to just hunt with bow, and in fact, just sold my last rifle. Buddy keeps telling me to get another one just in case. Who here has just gone strictly bow?

I always take both. I love to bow hunt but I would hate for a giant to walk out when a firearm season is in and not be able to get a shot. I know that the challenge of bow hunting is the part that makes it so special, however I have not taken a great deal of large bucks yet so I prefer to take both!

I hunt with my bow until my buck tag is gone. Then I pick up the rifle and hunt some. I have to go to another county, the county I live in is bow only.

I’m strictly bow not by choice but that is another story lol… But as it is I enjoy bow more than I did gun. I do sometimes get discouraged because I can see a deer in thick brush and go man if I only had a gun… But that is causing me to think more get outdoors more scout more, which in return helps my body more my mind more and really enjoy the outdoors more. I have learnt much more about deer and deer hunting since I picked up a bow 4 years ago than I would have ever been able to gun hunting…

I am a gun super freak!!! i have a small collection and enjoy shooting and love reloading! HOWEVER, when it comes to hunting big game, i enjoy bowhunting soooooo much more. Dont get me wrong, there is nothing like splatting a ground piggy at 500 yds with a boomer but deer woods is so peaceful and more personal with a stick and a string.
