Just curious as to how many hunters film thier/others hunts!!! I just got a camera from a guy has done a lot of camera work for hunters.. (he said I could just have it, but it needs to be fixed up which is where my money comes in). I can’t wait!
Me & my cousin started filming each other on our hunts this past fall but we agreed that when we film we are only killing bucks & we only shoot mounters. We got alot of does & young bucks on film but no kills so next year we are going to shoot does.
not for me. too much of a hassle, i spend way too much time on trying to be scent free and cautious to have someone else there. and to film myself would take too much of my concentration away from killing a deer(i am not that talented )
MY BROTHERS AND I DO ALOT OF VIDEO TAPING OF OUR HUNTS! WE HAVE 5 DEER KILLS AND 2 TURKEY KILLS ON TAPE !!!! IT’S AWESOME TO SIT DOWN IN THE OFF SEASON AND WATCH THE VIDEOS!! IT REALLY GETS THE BLOOD FLOWING FOR THE UP COMING SEASON!!! I ALSO HAVE MY SON’S FIRST TURKEY KILL AND MY DAUGHTERS FIRST DEER KILL ON VIDEO!!! TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!!
I prefer to hunt alone which means geting hunts on video cumbersome at best. But last year I dedicated lots of time to filming for other guys, especially guys who had nbever shot deer before. After about November 10th I only hunted for myslef once or twice, preferring to instead film for other guys. I got a huge kick out of it and will be doing more videoing in the future. I’ve killed plenty of deer, this filming thing is a great new way to boost interest for me, especially when I can take someone out and help them get their first or second deer and have it all on film for them.
I’ve had 1 hunt filmed and my buddy the cameraman had more fun than I did I think. . I plan on self filming for turkeys this year. One thing we learned real quick, was getting good footage of the shot isn’t as easy as it looks.
