I won’t lie, I do. I don’t care if I get 300 fps (which is easy with my specs) but I do want to stay at or above 280 fps. My current set up is shooting a 406 grain arrow @ 295 fps and while that is more than enough for deer I have always liked heavier arrows. I am actually in the process of adding 36 grains to my arrow which will give me a 442 grain arrow moving @ 283 fps. The 442 grain arrow will quiet my bow down even more, give me a little extra KE (not that I need it) and a little more momentum. Like I said, 406 grains is plenty for deer, but I have bigger animals in my future 8D

    Ain’t that the truth? #-o

Like I said though, that 617 grain monster you put together has me seriously eyeing a Black Max 2. I’d absolutely LOVE to shoot a log like that at 280 fps and produce 100 lb. of KE lol :X :X :X :X

Accuracy= Yes. I keep tuning till it’s right.
Speed= Not the primary consideration for me.
Native americans killed many deer with slower bows.

I have never shot my bow through a crono.I just don’t care about the speed that much.None of the deer I have killed ever”ducked” the string either. [=}=]

for me I believe I need speed short draw small arrows but i do agree that its doesn’t mean everything quietness and being able to place your shot accurately is more important

Speed Demon— Doesn’t matter how fast it is, you have to hit what you’re aiming at. Take a bow loaded with Quiet and Accuracy and Shootability and you’ll be happier than if your bow does 350 and knocks you out of your stand when you shoot it :)

I care. But it is only a factor,I choose a heavy enough arrow to get good speed, quietness, KE.

Could really care less about speed myself. I have never even shot mine through a chrono so I don’t even know what speed I’m getting out of mine.
