My friend runs a little gun business out of his house. He has over 20 guys waiting on various handguns. Supply houses aren’t giving any etas…

I have a friend that does the same, and he has 4 or 5 different XDM models, among others; but they’re going FAST!

There were actually quite a few XDs and XDMs at the gun show in Indy today. Also quite a few Sigs with higher capacity mags.

The stuff that was going nuts were the black rifles and the accessories.

Windowed PMAG 30 rd magazines were getting $15 each 60 days ago. Today they were fetching $40+ and they were moving ‘em. Bare semi-auto 5.56 lowers which were $150 two months ago were running $300-450. And uppers without a bolt were brining $750 and up. Though there were a few lesser known brands of semi-auto 5.56 rifles, we did not see anything labeled Colt going for less than $2250, and many were in the $2500-3,000 range.

Reloading components were crazy, too. Small pistol primers which were $25ish a few months ago were brining $40-60/1,000 today. .223 brass was averaging $.40-.50 per piece in contrast to .223 finished ammo which not too long ago was about $.30/round.

Nonetheless, it was a fun day to be out. Most folks were in pretty good moods. It must have been a pretty boring day for all the media folks there who were apparently waiting for something “bad” to happen. I mean with all those guns sitting on the tables, one would have expected at least ONE to jump off and shoot someone. Alas, it was quiet in the South Pavilion of the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Was at Cabela’s yesterday and early morning 4 guys at gun counter did not even have time to talk to you. Wanted to pick up a couple more clips for my Beretta 9-mm. After a long wait one of them had time to look while writing an order on the phone and said even on-line it would be more than 2 or 3 weeks in back order.
Did buy a new 700 LUMENS[/color:azk44830] flash light that is rechargible and makes daylight look dark. #-o

Found what I wanted on the shelf. just had to wait the mandatory 72 hrs to take it home.

That 72 hours gives you time to clean up your act.

The machine shop where I work has their ffl, so I can get guns at their cost (nice benefit), so buying off the shelf is out of the question. I will just wait till they can get one. Does anyone have the Shield in .40? How do you like it?

Like buying gold! I bought 1000 rds of .223 in April last year for $354.00. That will only get you 350 rds now ( if you could get it)!!!

My buddy had a screaming good deal on an XD Subcompact in .40, so I had him order one.

Hit the gun show in Maquoketa IA this morning, a decent selection there as far as AR’s if you were willing to pay double for them. Decent selection of handguns, but virtually no ammo to speak of however. Reloading supplies and brass looked like the big sellers.

I’m pretty well stocked on reloading components but I haven’t been able to turn up a pistol I want or a few Glock and 10/22 mags. By the time suppliers get caught up I’ll have to buy them out of state. [=}=]
