you guys scared of heights :p

i use a 30 ft huntin’ hoist that i attach to the bottom platform of my lone wolf. i will climb until it has about a foot of cord left or until it pulls my bow from the ground. it all depends on the land and amount of cover available. but beware, if anything falls from this height it’s going to be in more pieces than a puzzle.

I only go at the most 15. I don’t like hights so getting any higher just freaks me out.

I am becoming a wimp in my older age. I used to go around 20ft with a platform stand and no harness (dumb@@@), but now I use climbers with a bar or ladder stands around 15ft. I have found that by having some military netting wrapped around on the front bar helps to keep the deer from freakin out if they see me.

it depends on terrain and cover. i have shot deer from 8′ to 35′. just depends on whats available. kinda pointless to go up 25ft cause you can and then can only see 5ft beneath your stand. [=}=]

I think my butt sits 2.5ft off the ground in a double bull chair (a.k.a. crotch rocket) but the few times I have sat in a tree its been around 12, 15, and 20ft

I hunt anywhere from ground level to nearly 40 ft high….depending on cover, terrian. and deer travel routes.

It depends on how high I have to go to get some cover. This time of year I try to use all of my 30′ pull up rope when I hunt from my climber. Most of the hang on stands I have set up are between 15 and 20′, but some of them become useless after the trees loose there leaves.

its best to get 20ft high no higher or lower but it is ok to have a treestand 12 ft high if thats the only tree in a good spot the higher the farther the deer has to be to make an ethical shot
