Can it handle broadheads? Probably not, but I figured I would ask :thumbup

Nah. I wouldn’t try that. :thumbup

Here’s mine. I used old clothes, carpet and a couple old comforters (bottom, middle and top layers). All 3 stop arrows great. The ones with the green vanes are from a 28.5/70 Reezen at 10 yards. Only problem is they will go in farther between the layers, so I think I am going to re-stuff the whole thing with old clothes, they seem to work best. I used some sunscreen room material from Lowe’s for the face and it works really well. Great target though!

I like the design but wonder about some of the mentioned filling material….Plastic works great, yes…but I think clothing and rags would clog the arrow in pulling it out. Maybe not…but I would go for a plastic filled target rather than anthing with cloth…..MO.

The clothing will work fine….mine is full of sheets, and stuff plus old target stuffing and and it works great…

:thumbup This thing is awesome!! Thank you for the plans Ricky. Instead of the plastic fencing I wrapped mine in the shrink wrap. So far it is working great. Just had to paint target dots on the wrap and shoot. Stuffed it with used shrink wrap and old clothes. Couldn’t be happier. :D

Man your a genius! and simple to follow. I need a big target like that heck you could mount horizontal and if you have artistic abilities paint a deer on it!: Maybe burlap would last longer than a sheet? Nice post! :thumbup

    what about this guys? http://www.3RiversArchery.com/Right+Fac … eitem.html

this is a really cool project…can’t wait for it to get warm to do this

Ricky…does the arrow stick out of the back of the target at all on yours?…I would be using mine indoors and would have to make an adjustment to the placement if it does

    I shoot a reezen 6.5 @ 67 lbs. 29.5 dl 350 maximas. I have maybe 1 out of 30 arrows that will stick out slightly. [/quote]

Ricky three years ago I build one like yours but used plastic to fill, alot of plastic. At the time I was a manager for a truking co. that move Home Depot lumber and loads incoming were covered in plastic. Ten trucks and I had all I needed and if I had filled with plastic bags I would still be filling it.

It worked GREAT with only one small issue. After shooting at one spot the friction heat would kind of melt, nor really melt but that spot would final get hard. Just move dot over a few inches and keep shooting

I just build it out of scraps and wife wanted to build right or get it out of yard so I just bought a good bag target.
Yours will last and last, just keep it try

I also used the same idea but cut some pink insulator I purchased at home depot for $9.50… so far so good.
