Hello to all on the forum-
I’m just getting started out in archery and just bought my first bow yesterday from my local pro shop. After shooting several other models from different manufactures (Bear, Hoyt, PSE), I narrowed to it down to the Matthews Creed XS and the Chill R. Initially, when I shot the bows I liked the Creed XS a tad more. I’m sure I could have bought either one of them and would have been satisfied, but I wasn’t quite ready to buy just yet. I went back to the shop and spent a good deal more time with each of the bows and chose the Chill R! I was looking for a bow that would be good for both target shooting and hunting alike, so the Chill R seemed to fit that bill nicely.
Admittedly, I don’t have much experience to compare from, but I really like the feel of the draw and smoothness of the Chill R. I ordered a LH, Lost camo, 60/28, with Rock Mods. The bow will be shipped in 10-14 days, but the rock mods will take about month to arrive. My shop will add those on for once they come in. I’m really excited to get started and wanted introduce myself to the group here.

If you find that it ever starts gathering dust, send it up my way. I’ll even pick up the shipping cost. Seriously – enjoy the journey. Thanks for the replys All. Can’t wait until my Chill R arrives and I can start getting proficient with it!

I’ve got my new bow and I’m getting started with breaking it in and getting used to it. I LOVE the way it shoots so far. I’ve been really happy with my initial results at 10-20 yds. I haven’t made any adjustments to my sights yet. I haven’t tried any longer distances yet because I’m just starting out and I don’t want to lose arrows needlessly. I can’t say enough about how pleased I am so far with the Chill R!!

I picked up a ChillR recently as well, and have to say I am thoroughly pleased with the comfort, balance and performance of the bow as well. I think you’ve made a wise choice!
