I bought a Heli-M August 2012, the serving had a minor fray right next to the cable roller. This past weekend it finally unraveled. The dealer told me Mathews would not honor the repair or replacement. I shoot almost daily but it has never been out of adjustment. Would somone from Mathews respond as to if you would honor a warranty on a $130 cable and string? Appreciate it.

I have had this same issue with the Reezen. Part of the serving unraveled where the cable (or string I can’t remember) touched the roller guard at full draw. I think it has to do with the pressure the cable/string is under upon release and that initial “shock” which cause more wear at that location. Anyhow, I reserved that small section and used super glue to bind the original serving to the new (in two places obviously).  This lasted for me till the end of the season.

I assumed this was fixed with the reverse assist cable guard. I certainly don’t want to spend the money on a new bow and still be dealing with this problem.

Also Neil has some info about super glue on certain parts of the serving to prevent separation which I have had success with.  For those of you replacing strings maybe apply super glue on the new string using the old string as a guide for locations of the most wear.

I concluded there was really no “fix” for this for me. The only thing that would prolong the inevitable is a stronger serving and/ or super glue to help prevent separation of the serving… and hopefully prolong it for the life of the string.

I also have a 70 lb helium that is doing the same thing.  Do I take it to the shop I bought it or contact Mathews.  I’ve had mine since last November.   Will this cause the string to break?

My ZXT that I bought in January has done this twice already.  It is currently back at Mathews for inspection, and they have assured me that they will take care of the issue.  They told my dealer they would inspect the bow and repair or replace the bow if they could not spot the problem.  I will post what they say as soon as I hear.
