    Happy Canada  Day to you Larry!  I saw on the news where “O Canada” became the official anthem on this date back in 1980.{#emotions_dlg.mathews_cool}

    We do have great northern neighbors!

    Thanks Eric. Yes, O Canada was the “unofficial” anthem until 1980 when it became official. Prior to that time. we essentially had three anthems….O Canada, The Maple Leaf Forever, and God Save the Queen. However, since the 1950s, you seldom heard God Save the Queen. If you want to hear something really bizarre, hockey was only made the official sport of Canada in the 1980s as well. Prior to that it was lacrosse. {#emotions_dlg.mathews_shocked}
