Definitely bowhunting forum… Generally, you have to kill ‘em in order to be field dressing them.
Me, I gut them where I find them and leave the entrails lay. Critters will have it picked through and eaten in no time. It’s as if it never happened in a couple days, especially if it rains or snows.
As to what a TV hunter did or didn’t do… it’s TV. Most do not have carte blanche to go gutting things and/or showing gaping belly slits on camera. They likely only dragged the deer just long enough to get a shot for the show. When the camera was off they likely stopped and did the actual work of the hunt. (Or had someone else do it for them if they were the prima donna type.)
