which company do you think makes overall bows. I was looking at the Fred Bear Sq32 and the darton tempest extreme. They both have the same brace height and about the same ata and ibo speed. Unless you guys think fred bear is better i was leaning towards darton because they are cheaper. I just cant afford a mathews right now but i need a new bow

Take a look at the new Fred Bears – in a word – SWEET!

I am looking to get one when I can get my hands on one.

I still say to this day – with the exception of the hand shock, my 2003 FB Epic Xtreme shot better than my Legacy and my Switchback!

I didnt even realize the hand shock part until I shot a Mathews…..

I didn’t even bother to vote … there is no ‘versus’ between Bear (Escalade) and Darton IMHO [=}=] ](*,)

BTW, if you do your homework, you’ll find some of Fred Bear’s acclaimed engineers now work for Mathews. :bowdown

I would choose Darton, I am not a fan of the new Bear bows and the split limb design that they use, when the limbs break over, they break in one spot on the Bear’s, you better hope it is VERY strong. [=}=]

BTW, I notice this post was dredged up from the cellar … Darton doesn’t make the Tempest Extreme and Bear doesn’t make the SQ32 anymore #-o #-o
Since this post was made in 2006, Darton has innovated the 2-1/2 Cam and is producing smooth shooting bows with 326 – 333 IBO http://www.dartonarchery.com/index.html , while Bear/Escalade hasn’t innovated anything witnessed by 318 IBO being the upper bound of their technology and a review of Bear’s ‘advancements for 2008′ is a list of what you’d expect from any manufacturer of mid-tier compound bows, IMHO

Can’t afford a matthews? Shoot the mission x3. It’s a no brainer IMHO.
