Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I dont’ see this as winning anything … I assume the travel costs, lodging, meals, tags, etc. would be out of pocket.
If there is any “winning” it would be hunting with Dave … or even better, Dave and his family.
I don’t see this as a contest, but as something to do that would further archery, Mathews, and get the forum members involved … you know, like bonding
Joined: 1/6/2009Hello everyone,
Back from LA. No hogs but got a killer bowfishing episode! Had a great time. Ate way too much cajun food but it was so good. Follow me on twitter to get daily updates and pictures on where I am and what I’m doing.
OK, so we can move on and get to other stuff. Here’s what we’ll do. I’m going to take TWO people on a hunt with me. I will pay all expenses. You’ve already bought a Mathews bow so YOU have been making my house payment for the last 5 years. (In a round about way). And I sincerely appreciate it !! Mathews appreciates it, too.
gjarcher, Brian, you’re going. You are hunter #1.
As for hunter #2, on the first episode of Mathews TV for 3rd Quarter, (July 1st, I think), I’m going to write everyone’s name on a piece of paper. EVERYONE who has made a post on this thread as of 12 noon, (AZ Time) on May 2nd.
I’m going to put that piece of paper, (or papers), on a Morrell target and have my 9 year old son, Max, shoot his Mission Craze at 30 yards. We might lose an arrow or two but when he hits the paper, THAT member comes along with Brian and I. (Might take half of the episode but it’ll be fun).
As for what we’ll be hunting, elk is out. Too hard to get tags so it might be YEARS before we could go. We’ll decide what and where based upon when all 3 of us can go.
Over and out….blessings to all.

I see Dave grew up and lives in AZ.
Maybe you could go javelina hunting in January and get a break from the Colorado winter. Tags are plentyful and affordable. ( flatter land and lower elevation are a plus too )
I do remember posting here 4 or 5 years ago that I was leaving CO for an AZ javelina hunt. You posted/hinted that you were wondering if we needed a “camp cook”. Unfortunately we had a full boat already, but I haven’t forgot about you wanting to go.

Yes, I remember!!
I’m going to ask a mod to lock this thread in 2 hours 45 minutes. Thanks to all for all the suggestions and comments.
I look forward to hunting with two members! Arizona Javelina is a great idea. Such a fun, scenic and exciting hunt.

El Cappy Tan in Colorado”
Whoops, misunderstanding. I was referring to Grand Junction archer about the ” camp cook” hint.
GJ….If you want some real excitement, blow on a predator call when you get in on a herd of javelinas.
