1 Eye open when target shooting as it lessens distractions . . . 2 eyes open when hunting as I can gather more light and get a better view of the animal’s body language. Both eyes closed when I’m practicing in my sleep. Shoot Straight! [-o|

I am blind in one eye and can’t see out of the other so it doesn’t matter if I shoot with both eyes open or both eyes closed.

Right eye dominant, left-hand shooter. So, I close my right eye. It sucks, but it’s my only physical fault. :^o I’ve tried to train myself to focus with my left eye and thus keep both eyes open, but my brain started to swell, so I stopped. :D

:D IMHO you are part of the only people who shoot should with one eye closed anyone with a sight problem or eye dominace problem..

All others shoot shoot with both open…to me IMHO again its not logical to shut one eye whhen hunting…your blocking 50% of whats out there…

Back in 2006 when this thread started, I shot with both eyes open …

… shortly after that, I told my wife I’d buy a new bow any time I wanted one … :-S

… it has only been lately that I can shoot with both eyes open, again.

When I answer this question, I get dumped on and in trouble, so I will just keep my eye’s open and watch what others have to say. :whistle

Interesting … but not understandable without some explanation.

Why would both eyes open be better for accuracy/competition shooting, and not as good for bowhunting? And, why would you practice both ways prior to hunting season….

    … confusing. [=}=]
