I just received an “as new” DXT from an AT’er yesterday. Bow looks great but as I looked closer getting ready to install a peep, I noticed some troubling lines/patches at the limb turrets on both upper and lower limbs. Is this normal??? My Dren has no markings. What do you folks think? Any help is greatly appreciated!

It does not look normal or “as new”, the dipping process should have a uniform look to it. I would take it to your local dealer and have it checked over.

The seller told me he has those marks on his Z7, cosmetic wear, no structural issues. Does anyone have those marks on their bows?

I would check with other DXT owners but I have not seen those marks on any Mathews bow I have owned. Z7, Creed, M7, M6, MR5, Z7X or the wife’s Passion. The only marks that I get on my limbs are wear marks of the dip where the pocket rubs one side. There was another post about that very topic in the general archery section.

I don’t have any marks like that on my DXT, might want to get it checked out.

:D That definitely appears to be a patch job…out of all the Mathews I have seen and Owned I never seen anything like that…If a tight turret was used at some point it could have wore the paint off and someone patched…quite well I might add…But i would still have it looked at from an mathews dealer..

Thanks folks, I thought as much, looks like a patch job to me. I’d be surprised if Mathews QC would let that out the door. Bow shoots nicely, I hope that the patch is not a structural one. The Mathews dealer is about a couple of hrs drive, and I have a feeling he’d tell me to order new limbs…

I just took a look at my DXT and don’t see anything like that either. Hopefully it is just cosmetic not structural.

I checked both my DXTs very closely and neither shows any marks like that.

As others said, I would get it checked out.

Wouldn’t it be impossible to patch a film dip like that and match it up perfectly? Could it be that there is a clear coat of some type on it that has worn off?

    The end is near....

Thanks for all the input folks! Still haven’t been able to get to the Mathews dealer, long drive. I’ve sighted it in and she really shoots sweet. I’m on the look out for some 70# limbs, as I’m not happy with the “patches” even though they might be cosmetic.
