so i just got out of my stand today and went to take the string i use to raise/lower my bow with and notice the braided rope i use is sticking to the limb. after further investigation, i found 2 of what appear to be splinters, coming off the lower limb with the tips of the splinters pointing towards the riser and they were in the same spot about 3/4 the way down my limb towards my cam. needless to say i was not happy and i treat my bow like it is my baby, never dropped, dry fired etc. first question is has anyone else experience this, as it appears to be manufacture defect and i am afraid to even draw it back now before it get fixed. and second question is will the warranty cover this? it is obviously an 08 DXT. any input would be appreciated. i am supposed to be leaving on a hunting trip with my dad and brother this coming weekend. thanks all
here is a picture, hard to see it unless you look hard, but the black line in the “s” in mathews is the first one and the second one is to the right of that in the white part of the camo. let me know what you think, thanks again
Any splinters anywhere on limbs …replace immediately..
Warranty or not…
Some have filed off the splinters and sanded area smooth and shot for years like that…However as a dealer …I say that its what you may not see that may be of concern if it splintered…and it is not reccomended.
It does happen and warranty covers it…if not a new set of limbs wont break the bank for a new bow that is safe and one can shoot with confidence..
