I got this one for my dog.  Rem270 did/does a lot of training with his hunting dogs and recommended the dogtra ones.  He actually sent me one of his to try (different model than the one I got as he wanted a longer range for his)  It works really well.  I don’t use it for hunting but for keeping my dog in the yard and correcting her bad behavior.

I’d go to Dogtra’s website and compare the different models.  The one I have as with all their models you can increase or decrease the strength of the “correction” it gives.

Dogtra and tritronics make great collars. The one I sent Sticks was a tritronics and it is water proof  with a mile range and would be able to handle a large dog. What you want to look for is a collar that you can change the barbs for short and long hair dogs . They also make collars that come with a beeper so you can warn them before they get shocked it don’t take long for them to get the idea. But you can also ruin a good dog by over shocking him.
