    So it’s a simple question

    Do you enjoy reading books?

Me not really, magazines and things like that I enjoy but picking up a book just not my thing. Never really have enjoyed reading, especially all those wonderful stories when I was in school like Jane Ayre, Scarlet letter and the list goes on. I know those are classics but to me that was just pure torture and boredom.

I think I’ve read one entire book in the past 5 years. Now my wife loves to read she goes through books in nothing flat

How are you living your Dash?

I read alot. It is either Louis Lamour as the occasional no brainer. A best seller once in awhile but the bulk of my reading deals with history. Mostly US between the early 1800′s to about the civil war. I’m reading about Napolean right now.

Exactly! If I’m interested in it I’ll read it. That being said I swear the next person that tells me “You have to read Obama’s book” is getting punched in the throat regardless of how they pee ](*,)

Average person retains about 10% of what they read.

Under that assumption, if you read a book a week, you should retain something like the equivalent to 5-books worth of knowledge every year.

Careful what you read. It makes sense to read about things for which you care. Of course reading for entertainment value has its merits as well. Someone on the forum here once referenced a person they thought of very highly and if I can paraphrase correctly : (I would love to get the quote right)

Guard your thoughts, they will become words. Guard your words, they will become actions.
