I need some guidance. Recently I have read about two deer that were shot below the spine and what appears to be through the top of the lungs. Both survived. One was harvested the second year with the tip of the BH protruding through his hide. The writer said when dressing the deer the BH was under the deers spine. What is happening here? Are there non-lethal areas of the lung?

:D If you think about it …It all depends whether the deer is inhaling or exhaling…when exhaling the lung is in a sense deflated and much smaller hence a hit on inhaling may be a marginal miss when exhaling…
    :D
