Now first off don’t get me wrong here!!! I fought to NOT have crossbows during archery season here in Alberta [except for handicapped hunters].
Crossbows up to two years ago were even on the restricted firearms list here in Canada????
However now we can use them to hunt only[/b:17rh7yrx] during rifle season-[/u:17rh7yrx]Now once it gets too cold here and I can not shoot accurately enough with all the extra clothing with my bow to feel confident my shots will be lethal –
-so I was just thinking about it.
Although I am a dedicated and avid bowhunter–I have been known to take my rifle or muzzleloader out in late winter…but that’s way Too easy .
The Crossbow would still be equipped with an arrow and my Sonic 125 gr broadhead….. hmmmm .
And what if….. Mathews built a crossbow [ okkk shut my mouth]
Well, I really don’t have a problem with folks using crossbows during archery season and gun season. Personally, I will use my bow until the time ever comes where I can’t. Then, I sure might use a crossbow. I just don’t make a big deal about crossbows. But, that is only my opinion.
i would be using my bow for rifle season but theirs a biggun ive been seeing and hes always to far out for a ethical shot. so i figure if i dont get him first weekend of rifle season then someone else will, and sound funny, but i feel like its my deer. ive been so close so many times, and i want to say i won. i it wasn’t for him i would be using the bow!!!!
I’d use one during gun or muzzle loader season. I don’t view a cross bow any less primitive then a new compound equipped with modern accessories. Yes they are much easier to shoot than a compound but still primitive compared to a 7mm Mag.
