I have a question that I am hoping one of you all can answer. I went and shot a Chill-X last week and thought it shot great but I just can’t bring myself to spend that amount of money on a new bare bow. The price is rediculous in my opinion and will leave it at that. Is it possible (or even worth it) to upgrade a 70lb/30″ Monster 7 to Chill-X/R cams? I liked the smoothness, valley and wall of the Chill-X and nearly robinhooded one of the shops arrows within 5 shots. It’s definitely a great shooting bow. Thanks for any answers to the question!!

The retail price of the chill and mr7 are within $50, so I don’t get that argument. The limbs and riser are also very different, the cams aren’t going to give the same feel. Sell the MR and put the money toward a new one. For the price of the cams(if that would work), you can buy a new bow. I don’t see your logic here.

Chill R-$999 retail, chill x -$1099 retail, MR7 was $999 retail  when it was current. I’m not saying that it’s not a lot of money, but the Mr is several years old now, and compared to other target bows, the X isn’t out of line. To me , the balance of the x is so much better than the Mr, it wouldn’t matter what cams you put on it, it’s still heavy and takes a bunch more weight to balance it.

Wow. No need to be snarky about it guys. It was just a simple question. I have been shooting Mathews bows since way back with a Signature and have had many since then. However, the last two were not purchased brand new. They were shop demo bows and A LOT cheaper than what bows go for new now. I am not trying to have an argument over price so disregard my question and we can be done with this one. Thanks for the help.

Ok, simple answer to simple question….. no. Not trying to be “snarky”, whatever that is, just pointing out what I feel to be valid responses to your questions. Have a good day.

I wouldn’t try making a frankenstein bow by changing your M7 with your suggested changes for several reasons. You’ll be changing string and cables plus the limbs are an issue mounting the cams. Too much to do and time spent for what results. Me and it just my humble opinion I’d sell the M7 and put the money you get for it toward the Chill X. It’s going to be about the same speed using the 75% rock mods and easier to draw at a higher draw weight.
