    Congratulations!  Sounds like quite a hunt.  Please clarify one thing;  You say he ran 40 mts.  Is this an abbreviation for “minutes?”  Just curious.  Thank you.

    Now that makes sense.   I didn’t see how 40 minutes was possible, but we don’t have have too many of those critters in our woods to draw upon for knowledgr.

    I would like to thank GJ ARCHER for advising me on what arrow set up to use. my OT2 has run out, i used the bow hunting calculators to get my velocity, foc and ke, but i think the figures i have put up seem a bit low…? can any body clarify on theses numbers please. my set up is as follows..27” draw, 70# monster xlr8, 250 spine DG FMJ 17.2 grain per inch cut at 27 ”. nock is 8.6 grain, insert is 74.2 grain, 183 grian german kinetic, 4 fletch feather weighing 3.4 grain each, total arrow eight is 759 grain.

    Congratulations {#emotions_dlg.mathews_applause} … I know you’ve planned a long time, and worked hard to take this magnificent animal.

    Yeah, the calculators break down with extremely heavy arrows. You should have been generating about 83 ft-lbs KE, which equates to about a 223 fps arrow speed. At 30m, the impact velocity should have been about 210 fps.

    Gotta love those German Kinetics {#emotions_dlg.mathews_love}

    yeah…..those figures seem better. upon inspection, the broad head was still very sharp. Amazing broad heads. I had my doubts about getting such good penetration.

    Huge congratulations on taking such a trophy — that’s getting in close and personal with the black death. That bull could have been on you in no time at all being that close. Some good shooting with the proper set up made for on awesome hunt. {#emotions_dlg.mathews_applause}{#emotions_dlg.mathews_applause}{#emotions_dlg.mathews_thumbs_up}
