I have never used a mechanical and may not ever. I love my NAP Hellrazors. IF, and a big IF I was to use mechanicals, it would probably be either a Swhacker or a Grim Reaper. I’ve seen/heard about way too many guys/gals not getting penetration with a Rage even with a well placed shot to even consider them. Fixed blade is the way to go IMO. I’ve never had to track a deer. Always dropped within sight.

If you are looking for a mech, you would be VERY hard pressed to find one that will beat a Grim Reaper :thumbup

I’ll tell you right now, the ones you mentioned won’t do it :D ;)[/quote:2zrmi1lm]

Mechanicals- Can’t beat the Grim Reapers for whitetail. Tried the rage and they were terrible. Went back to the Reapers and I’m not Changing again.
For Hogs and Elk I like a fixed blade. Slick Trick Mags Period!

I never shot a Swhacher, never will. I shot 2 deer with Rage. The first looked like the pics people post with the big holes. The second I hit a rib going in and it turned to mush. I will never shoot a Rage again. If I shoot a mechanical it will be NAP Spitfire. Shot lots of deer with them and zero issues. Now I use NAP Hellrazors or Tru-Fire T1. I am sure there are lots of good fixed blade broadheads out there. But these 2 have never failed me.

I agree totally, neither of the mechs listed above are better than Reapers.

G5 Montec…..in fact, mechanical broadheads are illegal here in Idaho. so they’re not even sold in stores.

Another vote for the Grim Reapers. Started using them shortly after they came out.

I’m shooting Slick Trick Mags and WASP Boss Bullets. Both have had excellent results for me.
