If I’m paying $1500 I should be allowed to hunt however I want to.

If I went into the lease up front knowing it was bow only that’s one thing but to change it up on me after the excpectations had already been set that I could Rifle hunt as well I’d probably be quite ticked.

Very true, however, this lease is renewed on a yearly basis, and starting the 2011-2012 season, it will be bow.

Looks like we will be going bow hunting only for the 2011-2012 season. As far as spring turkey season, shotgun or bow. Predator hunting with rifle will be allowed after deer season.

I will be meeting with new members to get input on the new rules, at lease some of them, and want to ask you guys/gals a question. Texas has a youth weekend usually the weekend before the regular season begins, and kids 16 and under are allowed to hunt with rifle. I am all for youth getting into hunting. If you were a member of the lease and had a child or somebody that fit this, would you want the option to allow the kid to hunt this weekend with you using a firearm?

Also, after the close of regular season, usually the first weekend in January of each year, the State has a two-week season for does and spikes. Would you want the option to hunt these two-weeks with a firearm if you wanted to put meat in the freezer?

    Look forward to your input.

    Thanks

Being as this is Texas, and I am aware of the prices for some of the leases there, I’d do it in a heartbeat. [=}=]

If they renew yearly and those are the rules then that is the way it is. I would be on it in a heartbeat. If that is not what somebody else wants then that is their choice to pay or not to pay that is the question.
    I hunt because I can.

depends on how many gritters you’ve got crossing that place. Last lease I was on we were having to shoot 75-80 deer a year with 6 of us hunting. To get that done and try to be selective is a lot of work.

If that type of work is not an issue, I’d go bow only. Even if guns were allowed.
