What would you all consider a good press for a small home shop? Looking for something that can press most bows without breaking the bank? If you think I need to spend extra to get the best feel free to say so.

Is riser twisting as big an issue as everyone thinks it is with a linear press?

Does Mathews have a list of recommended bow presses?

    With Hoyt Tech risers, yes.

No, Mathews doesn’t have a recommended list of presses.

PSE has a recommended list of presses, sorted by those for complete disassembly and those for routine maintenance.

Thanks Neil. I have a friend looking into a press from them for me. Would you go with the EZ Green or drop the xtra $$ on the Sure Loc? Everyone keeps telling me the Sure Loc would be overkill for me. I guess the EZ Green would be a step up from the Apple Economy press.

    FWIW,
I bought an EZ Press last year as a novice and completely tuned my Dren IAW Neil’s guide. I have also pressed several other bows to change peeps, string leeches etc with NO issues. I have two other bows lined up for string replacement and tuning after the bow season ends. I would definitely reccommend this Press. Very user friendly.

Got mine today. This thing is great. Butter smooth and only a couple of turns to relax string/cable once you have a little holding tension. LOVE IT!

    BTW, Got mine here:
