I’ve been a member here for awhile, and have been quietly absorbing all the knowledge I can from a lot of you old pros on here. My question is kind of a spin off a recent post.
I’ve been looking at bow presses for awhile now, and to be honest, I’m more confused then ever. I don’t want to break the bank, but want to pick up a press that will get anything done I need to do on my bows. I’m thinking about an Apple Edge Economy Bow Press. What do you guys think, is this one worth the money, or do you have a better suggestion?
I highly suggest the Last Chance EZ Press green. It is an econo version of their pro shop press. It is a limb tip press that puts no stress on the riser.
If you’re going to buy a press (not build one) I second the EZ green. If you can weld (or have a good friend that can) and don’t mind spending the time you can find plans for all kinds of presses on AT. I think there’s a few that don’t require welding.
Look in the DIY section on Archery Talk.
What you save in $ by making your own is substituted by your time, planning and work. Considering that; the EZ green is a good value.
