Joined: 2/22/2008I’d have to say the Switchback it was the smoothest bow I ever shot, regreted selling it , but now I have the S2 which is its twin brother with a new name, great shooting smooth bow like the original.

Joined: 4/7/2008You left out the one bow that practicaly gave birth to most on that list, the Legacy.
They named it that for a reason
Seriously though, I would have to go with the Conquest line. The winningest bow in target archery.
Location: FloridaI thought my Switchback was excellent (still is) , but I shoot the LD better…Both top notch..I think the Switchback was probably a new great beginning (and may have been overdue for sometime) for the Mathews bows, the XT just encompassed what everyone else was looking for.
The Dren, well that was another step up with the slim limbs. Bringing creativity and technology together. Top it off with the DXT and DLD’s…
I can see somewhat of a trend going in Mathews, the baseline or initial bow and then issue the XT parrallel limb version and then the LD versions.
I think the Switchbacks and Drenalins have merged many 3D shooting bows with hunting bows and really brought the two types of shooters closer together.
I also feel the Mission bow line was a great start for many newcoming archers too.
Everyone is different and your “best” bow may not be my “best” bow. However, all in all, with the great reputation, great quality, and great customer service, I feel confident in saying that Mathews is #1 in my book.
If you remember my posts after returning from Iraq, I was excited and interested in the “XT”. I got home and shot the XT and the Dren, and I ended up going with the Dren. Even at that time I really wanted a crossover of the XT and the Dren, I even thought it could be nicknamed the DXT… Someday when my finances come back up (hopefully gas prices go down too ) I will get me a DXT and it will probably be the best for me. I just hope Mathews doesn’t keep coming up with other bows that I think are the best and/or want… Thanks to Matt for building such great bows!
