Its hard to beat the Honda for long lasting durability. Maybe a little slower on the trail but it always gets there. Yamaha Grizzly would be my next choice. They will go any where

I hear alot that Polaris is junk this and that. After the beatin’ I saw them take in Iraq I’m sold on them. Definately NOT junk. And as an added plus the fasteners are standard, not metric.I had to rebuild one from bare frame after one got wrapped around a phone pole out there. #-o

    I own a 99 Kawi 400 prairie.I think it’s a good machine.But I’d say Honda comes in as my pick. :thumbup[/quote:1snzc3vz]

Every Polaris I’ve had the chance to ride is a piece of junk. And for anything automotive, I’d much rather be using the metric system. In fact, I’d like it if the U.S. went to the Metric System, because its much easier to use.

I’ve had two hondas, a Foreman 400 & a 450 and both have been diehard machines. They might not pack the biggest punch, but they’re reliable when you need them. :thumbup

Good question. There are alot of factors on choosing an atv.assuming you are talking about utility and 4×4.
What are you going to use it for?
What kind of riding do you want to do?
    How big is your wallet?
Do you need the biggest engine?
    Here’s my oppinion(you asked)
I wont tell you what Ive heard,I’ll tell you what I found out.

Honda.. Awsome machine,Honda has never been the machine with the most power, but it will never let you down. They always seem to be a Jonny come lately on tech.except for their race machines like the 250R and the 400EX and the 450.

Suzuki..another proven machine.Same reliability as Honda.(I currently have a ’03 Vinson and a ’08 King Quad 750.The only thing I didnt like about the King was the design of the A arms. But I fixed that with some aftermarket A arms.

Kawasaki..The Brute Force. One heck of a power plant,Tons of power. But it has a weak frame.Suzuki and Kawi were in conjuntion for a while,The Suzuki Twin Peaks was a Kawasaki Prairie, and the KFX 400 was a Suzuki Z-400.The only difference was the plastic.

Arctic Cat.(Its not just another Suzuki)they used Suzuki engines for a while but that was it.If you want a good machine to work with a Cat is a good one. They are a heavy machine good for plowing dirt and snow and pulling. They are one of the only three who make a 2 passenger model.(not meaning a side by side, but a 2 pass. quad)

Yamaha…Another great machine.Prolly one of the most popular. They look great and have tons of power but a little top heavy(sorry Ryan)Yamaha race machines are right up there with the likes of KTM.

Can Am(BRP)3 words OH MY GOODNESS.The 850 Outlander is the meanest, badest, fastest there is.With one of the biggest price tags to go with it.Do you have well over 10K to spend??Can Am has an auto front locker and also offers a 2 passenger model.

Polaris. No doubt Polaris had alot of troubles. They are prolly the most comforable to ride and have a alot of power.(but they sound like a vacum cleaner) :^O Polaris also has a 2 passenger model.

Im not going to tell you to buy what I own like some do.They all have their goods and bads, and I dont care what you buy there is always a lemon out there. If you have any questions Pm me. [=}=]

You can tell you don’t work with motorcycles, or in science departments. Its rare I deal with any type of SAE, or “Standard” measurement anymore. #-o

Can Am outlander is an 800. Can am has had some frame issues. They also had a horrible 4wd system until the 2010 model. The visco lock isnt my cup of tea, i want true 4wd…

Ive never heard of any kawi or suzuki utility quads breaking frames. But, im no expert here, i do know they had issues w/ their sportbike frames…
