    I’ve been gone the last four days, fishing the Flaming Gorge UT/WY for Lake Trout. Fishing was slow, fish finicky, got to spend more time on the water to learn how to fish’em, but I did catch several, including this 42″ 31 Lb Laker

    Four days of fishing sounds nice, also sounds exhausting.  But as the old saying goes a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work.  Congratulations on the nice fish.

    Here is another picture, this one of a 30.5″ 12 lb Lake Trout. One can actually smile holding up a fish if they aren’t almost having a hernia doing it. The blood you see on the fish’s mouth is from my finger … Lake Trout have very sharp teeth. I always bend/break the barb on the hook and fish barbless. It tears up the fish less, the hook slides out easily, both out of the fish and out of my leg if you look closely…Ouch.

    Nice Lakers…  Looks like you’re having a fun time, even if it was slow fishing.

    Nice catch.  Did you eat any of them or was this a catch and release trip?

    Catch and Release … although in hindsight, bringing home the 31-lb Laker would have been nice … smoked fillets {#emotions_dlg.misc_drool}

    Regulations are limit 8 on Lake Trout, of which only one can be greater than 28″.
