Mechelle sold the company to rage. So I’m trying to find a new broadhead. Has anyone had any problems with the whitetail special from grim reaper?

I shot a doe with them last year and as advertised I watched her drop, but I don’t feel the blades are very strong and the retaining cup that holds the blades also broke after one pass they fly great and performed well but lack durability in my opinion

I shot the buck in the video that I posted earlier today with a Whitetail Special. He went 70 yards & expired. Great broadhead. A couple of the one’s that I re-shot whistled while in flight, but the first shot was deadly.
I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.

Grim Reapers are the best I ever used. Have shot several deer with the Whitetail Special, great broadhead.  Did not know they sold to Rage, well, time to look for another broadhead.

I have used both the Rage and Grim Reapers as both shoot very well in my bow. Both get good penetration and blood trails, although the Grim Reaper shaft can be unbalanced out of the box. On a spin test, the shaft of the broad-head will not be 100% true. Although I try to tell people if you find something that shoots well with your set up, then stick with it as it is the shot placement that counts. I used to be a Muzzy man for years but as the technology got beater I found that expandable blades out of the box are more reliable. Once again I have shot almost all the brands out and found once again, Rage and Grim Reapers give the best blood trails for a faster recovery. This information again is biased on my setup. I would not spend a lot of money on 20 different brands and get 3 or 4 of what kind of broad-head you think would shoot well with your set up, or talk to a bow tech person and they may be able to let you know what would be best for what you shoot. Once again, SHOT PLACEMENT IS KEY! You can kill a deer with a field point if its in the correct spot.

Muzzy sold to rage not grim reaper.

I use the normal chisel tip and love them, took my black bear with one too! I’m thinking about buying the whitetail special this year to give them a shot!

Have killed 5 so far this year and 4 have dropped within 30 yards of my tree the other made it 50.  A devastating broadhead.

I’m a big Grim Reaper fan as well.  Been using them for years now.
