Location: AlbertaI all about bow and arrow have been for all my life….however[/u:nor2t4l4] I super enjoy the hunting adventure…so what i havent harvested in our generous bow season I may go after with smoke pole or rifle…
Also depends on how much is in the deep freezer…and how mad I am at the deer that would let me closer than 90 yards
1st choice if only one…Always bowhunting
Joined: 11/9/2005I was a die hard gun hunter..I picked up a bow in the mid 90’s anfd now i can’t put it down.O ,I can still gun hunt now and then, but it isn’t the same game as when my bow is in my hands.I’m a bowhunter first, but I won’t hesitate to put the .30-06 or the .12 or .28 gauge to work and fill the freezer. There isn’t a thing wrong with gun hunting … its just different.
… I’ll put out crawdad traps while flyfishing, too … kinda eliminates me as a Poster Boy for the front cover of Orvis or Dan Bailey catalogs.

Joined: 11/12/2008Unless I’m pheasant hunting, I only use a gun for at most 3 days during deer season.. I prefer a bow! Nothing like having them in close!
Location: In the evening shadow of oona-pa'isI answered both… but the last time I took a rifle into the woods to go hunting was over 20 years ago. I use the bow almost exclusively except for Bird Hunting!
Joined: 1/23/2005Mostly all bow with a slight mix of two or three days of gun. The gun season is more for when I dont score with the bow, I can still put meat in the freezer.
Joined: 1/23/2007I’m primarily bow but its hard to kill ducks and pheasants with a bow so when I go duck or pheasant hunting I have my shotgun.
Turkeys, mostly bow. Deer, mostly bow except for late muzzleloader season.

In WI you are not allowed to bow hunt during gun season…I love when gun season rolls around becuase that is the time when the whole family comes out to hunt
Im a die hard bow hunter! But the shotgun only comes out opening weekend of gun season and when Bird hunting. Opening weekend is when the family goes north for the weekend to get away from home..
Joined: 4/5/2010Bow or smokepole……no shotgun for me. Only people who bowhunt can truely appreciate how much more it means with a bow but when the season is winding down and there still room in the freezer sometimes you gotta let the smoke fly!!!!!!!!!!
Joined: 9/19/2008i use to rifle hunt but i havnt picked up a rifle with the intention to kill anything for 4 years now. except for ducks with the shotgun now duck hunting is some fun stuff.
