Anyone still hunting? Figured I’d bump this post to the top.

Well this afternoon around 2:30 had 2 does come cruising in with a buck on their heels they passed by at about 50 yds and he wouldn’t stop for nuffin. Looked to be a 6 maybe 8 pointer trying to count as he flew by but regardless either way he was definatly a shooter.Nephew shot a little doe but had a small malfunction had grunt call lanyard get caught in string and smacked him in the face.He and bow are both ok but the shot ended up a lil higher then wanted I believe.Started off with no blood then found the blood.Started out decent then it trickled here and there then we would find real good blood where she stopped for a moment.Got dark on us and blood thinned out some so we called it a night heading back out in the morn to resume the tracking wish us luck god willing we will find her.

I’m thinking about sitting tomorrow evening. Normally not a big late season hunter, but I’m thinking of giving it a couple hours tomorrow. High today was 14*F with west winds 8 – 10. Supposed to start a slight warmup tomorrow, and then possible heavy snow on Saturday. Local farmer showed me some pictures of his 13 year old nephew with the #1 buck on my hit list that he shot with a rifle on Thanksgiving day. Bummed out, yet happy for the kid. Ear to ear grin, first buck ever. Anyone else still hunting?
