Well guys,I unfortunately let the team down, went out Oct.1st and the biggest buck I ever saw stepped out at 30 yards, perfect broadside shot. Hit him a little high, thought it was a high lung shot.No blood except for what was on the arrow, blood was 10 inches up the arrow, looked for three days and no sign of him.My uncle, brother(with his dog) and I found nothing in a two square mile area. A few days ago went back to the same stand and saw a little 8 pointer, needs another couple years of growing time.Going out this afternoon, will let ya know if i get any action.

Definitely didn’t let the team down. That’s hunting my friend! I too had the same incident happen about 7 years ago. Biggest whitetail I had ever seen in the wild at 22 yards slightly quartering away and I hit a twig, hit him high and searched for 2 weeks but no luck. I felt sick, but after time realized that it just wasn’t meant to be! ](*,)

Well, just got the confirmation from the boss, I will be “officially” on vacation from Oct. 30 until Nov 12. Ah, yes, the first two weeks of November and nothing to do but sit in a treestand all day!! :thumbup

Went yesterday and saw a nice buck, but wasn’t close enough for a shot. Nice to see a nice one though!

Made it out for an afternoon hunt yesterday and “NOTHING”! I am to the point where I have decided to go in this weekend and remove my two current stands and relocate them, just not sure where. Keep your fingers crossed for me finding that “honey hole”. :thumbup

Went and check the cams we have had out since last month and had a bunch of does and a couple small bucks and this guy. :D Got some more pics of him also. I think I might have seen him last week over by my other stand. :thumbup

I have not been able to get out in the woods for the morning or an all day hunt, but have been out for several evening sits that have been very uneventful just seems like the deer are locked up amd not moving much. ](*,)

Well, good news guys, that big ten pointer I shot and didn’t find is still alive, cut his tracks about 300 yards from the stand where I shot him. Our rifle season starts on Nov.3rd and for how much he is chasing the ladies I am afraid he isn’t gonna survive this year.

Pulled two of my hang on stands today, but just can’t figure where to put them now. Vacation starts Tuesday and I hate to say I’ll probably be hanging stands and missing out on my morning hunt, but the one stand is going to be an evening only stand so maybe I’ll be able to be in it Tuesday evening. I apologize for not putting any points on the board, but hunting in my are (thanks to the Game Comm.) has become extremely hard. I’ve even made up my mind that next year I’ll be knocking on doors and securing land well before season. I’ve gotten so upset at times this season that thoughts of hanging it up and not hunting at all have crossed my mind. Good luck to all of those seeing deer. :thumbup
