I was in my stand Saturday morning but was disturbed by the lease next to ours… guy riding around on his ATV at about 8:30am…
I didn’t see anything… haha… That stand I was hunting is almost 3/4 mile from where I park my truck but I don’t ride in… I walk in so I don’t make any noise… and then I have this jackwagon riding around while I’m hunting. I’m getting pretty frustrated with this lease. Not the dream season I had in mind when I first signed up…. But I can’t kill anything from the couch so I’ll just keep hunting and hope for the best… I have a couple of spots that aren’t close to the property boundary so hopefully I can get lucky. In the process of looking for a lease this year, a buddy of mine was going to go in with me on something small but we couldn’t find the right piece of property. In this process we came across a really nice property that a coworker of his offered to let us lease. He stays in and out of the office so my buddy doesn’t see him every day and we didn’t want to pressure him too much. This is been going on for about 2 months now. He told us yesterday that the property was ours and we just need to finalize the deal on it. It’s only 77 acres but it’s a nice area with just the 2 of us hunting it. I was pretty excited about this news with the way things have been going on my other lease.
Hope you guys are enjoying your season and seeing some big bucks!!

Planning a trip to a really nice public land bowhunting place in a couple of weeks… Lots of deer at this place… just have to do my homework and put the time in the woods… I think I’ll end up with something over there.
Location: South DakotaFinally got all the beans done and did a short run on the corn on Sunday. Slipped out Sunday morning and all I saw were does. According to the camera, the bucks are starting to move during the day light now. Hope to get out again this week if the weather gets bad enough to stop harvesting corn. Never helps to get upset with the weather. Just take it one day at a time.
Wow!! That’s a bruiser!! Good luck with him
